Hilton Head Island, SC. We went there after a long day of hiking and it totally changed our mood. The Butt and Bones platter was large enough to feed three people but in reality I ate the whole thing, minus the ribs. The pulled pork is perfectly seasoned, but I would say there needed to be more of everything. The fries were perfectly sized, seasoned well, and crispy skinned while still being fluffy and soft on the inside. The coleslaw dressing, we deducted, contained poppyseed dressing and possibly vinegar. I would rate this a 4.5 out of 5 because there was not enough ribs, coleslaw, or pork. Next time you visit Hilton Head, be sure to drop in and tell us about the experience!Monday, December 19, 2016

Tarpon, signing off. Bye, friends!

Tarpon's other half adds: The BarbeCuban sandwich was delightful with crispy bread and gooey swiss cheese over pulled pork. Three bbq sauces on the table gave us good options. The mustard sauce was particularly tasty and well balanced. Our family said that the wings were 'the best they had ever had' (and they are wing connoisseurs) -- they were big, very tasty and not dry. I think the slaw, which was interesting and an atypical in flavor for a creamy, standard looking coleslaw, may have had coriander in it. My only negative comment is that pur server, while polite enough, seemed more interested in the football game than in us: a request to know what was in the coleslaw was and several requests for beverage refills were essentially ignored. I sat through most of the meal with no drink. Still it was a banner meal on a tired evening and restored our family's good mood.
